Honest gearbox servicing in Singapore

0% Risk0% Guessing0% Headache

When your gearbox feels off, the worry is the unknown. Is it a simple oil service, or something bigger? We take that worry away. We check the fluid, the way it shifts and the fault codes, then tell you straight what it actually needs. No upsell. No work you did not ask for.

A service is cheap insurance. Fresh fluid to the right spec, a clean filter and a fresh gasket keep a healthy gearbox healthy, so a small job today does not become a rebuild tomorrow. If the fault is already past a service, we tell you that too.

Fluid to Spec

We use the correct transmission fluid for your gearbox and fill it to the right level. The wrong oil does more harm than an overdue change.

The Whole Job

Filter and gasket too, where your gearbox takes them. A quick drain and refill is not the same service.

Service or Repair, We Say

If a service helps, we service it. If it needs a repair, we tell you, rather than sell an oil change that won't fix it.

Honest Pricing

Transparent pricing, quoted up front. No surprise add-ons and no upsell on the day.

Just had the gearbox oil changed on my Mazda 3. The difference is noticeable straight away. Gears engage cleaner and the whole drivetrain feels quieter and more willing. They used proper specification fluid, showed me the old dirty stuff, and wrapped it up fast. Honest pricing with no upsells

got my car's gearbox serviced and I'm impressed with how thorough these guys are. I just wanted basic maintenance before a long road trip but they gave me a full rundown of what they were checking, showed me some wear on the transmission fluid, and recommended a fluid and filter change. Not pushy at all, just genuinely helpful. The service was done quickly and my car feels noticeably smoother shifting now.

Did my gearbox servicing here. Very fast although the shop is busy. Great service but I had to wait for a while before someone came to serve

A gearbox service is one of the jobs we do, but it is not all of it. We also overhaul and repair gearboxes, mechatronics units, torque converters and valve bodies, across continental and Japanese or Korean makes.

Gearbox Repair and Overhaul for Every Make

Not sure if it's due?

Tell us the car and roughly when it was last serviced. We'll tell you whether a service is what it needs, or whether it's something more.

Servicing is the cheap insurance

A gearbox runs hot, and the fluid inside it does the hard work. Over time that fluid breaks down, picks up metal, and stops protecting the parts it is meant to protect.

A service puts that right. Fresh fluid to the correct spec, a clean filter and a fresh gasket where your gearbox takes them. It is the cheapest thing you will ever do for a transmission, and it is the one most owners forget.

We only do gearboxes. So when we service yours, we look at it with the same eyes that rebuild them all day.

What a service can and can't fix

A service is maintenance. It is not a repair, and it is fair to be clear about the difference.

What a service can do. Restore smoother, cleaner shifts. Slow down internal wear. Clear out fluid that has gone past its best. Done on time, it is what helps a gearbox avoid a major repair in the first place.

What a service cannot do. It will not fix a gearbox that is already slipping. It will not repair worn clutch packs or a failing mechatronic unit. It cannot undo internal damage that has already happened.

If your car needs the second list, an oil change is money in the wrong place. We will say so.

What we actually do

A service should be more than a drain plug and a top-up. Ours runs to four steps.

  1. Drain the old fluid. Out comes the old transmission oil, and we have a look at what comes with it.
  2. Change the filter. Where your gearbox has a serviceable filter, it gets a fresh one. A clogged filter starves the box.
  3. Replace the gasket. A fresh gasket goes back on so the pan seals properly and does not weep.
  4. Refill to spec. We refill with the correct fluid for your gearbox, to the right level. Not close enough. Correct.

Why a cheap service can cost you later

Not every oil change is the same job, and the corners are easy to hide.

The wrong fluid is the common one. Transmissions are fussy. A generic oil that is close but not correct can make shifts worse, not better, and the damage shows up months later.

Then there is the filter that never gets changed, and the old gasket that gets reused to save a few minutes. The bill looks smaller on the day. The gearbox pays for it down the road.

We do the whole job, with the right oil, the first time. It is not the cheapest line on a quote. It is the one that lasts.

When it's a repair, not a service

Sometimes the symptoms have gone past what a service can reach.

If the gearbox is slipping, jerking hard, stuck in limp mode, or throwing a warning light, that is not a fluid problem. No amount of fresh oil fixes worn clutch packs or a failed mechatronic unit. Servicing it would be selling you the wrong thing.

That kind of fault needs a repair or a full overhaul. An overhaul is a different job, with a different warranty: two years or 40,000km on the rebuild. A service is maintenance and carries no such warranty, and we will never pretend otherwise.

So we tell you which one your car needs. If it is a repair, read about a gearbox overhaul.

Every box takes a different oil

Singapore traffic and heat are hard on transmission fluid. Each type of gearbox wants its own oil, its own interval, and its own attention.

Automatic (AT). Fluid breaks down in the heat. Regular changes keep the shifts clean and the clutches happy.

CVT. Fussy about fluid condition, more than most owners realise. The right CVT oil at the right time matters.

Dual-clutch (DCT/DSG). Some run a wet clutch that shares its oil. Skipping the service is how small problems become expensive ones.

Porsche PDK. A sophisticated box that rewards being looked after properly. We service it to spec.

Whatever you drive, we use the oil it was built for.

Gearbox servicing FAQ

What does a gearbox service include?

A transmission fluid (ATF) change to the correct spec, a new filter and a fresh gasket where your gearbox takes them, and a mechatronic oil change if your gearbox needs one.

How do I check my transmission fluid level?

On most modern automatics, you can't: there is no dipstick. The gearbox is sealed and the level must be checked at temperature from under the car. If you suspect the fluid is low or burnt, drive in and we'll check the level and its condition properly.

How often should I service my gearbox?

It depends on the make, the gearbox type and how you drive. We follow the interval for your car, and in Singapore's heat and traffic, sooner rather than later does no harm. Send us the model and we'll advise.

Do you give a warranty on a gearbox service?

No. A service is maintenance, not a rebuild, so it does not carry a workmanship warranty. A full gearbox overhaul is different and is covered for 2 years or 40,000km. We'll tell you straight which one your car needs.

What is the difference between a service and an overhaul?

A service is maintenance: fresh fluid, filter and gasket to keep a healthy gearbox healthy. An overhaul strips the gearbox and rebuilds it when parts are worn. A service cannot fix a fault that needs a repair.

Can a service fix a slipping or jerking gearbox?

No. Slipping, hard jerks, limp mode or a warning light point to worn parts, not tired fluid. That needs a repair or an overhaul, and we will say so rather than sell you an oil change that won't help.

Why not just do a cheap drain and refill?

A drain and refill skips the filter and the gasket, and a generic oil that is close but not correct can make shifts worse. We do the whole job with the right fluid so it actually lasts.

How long does a gearbox service take?

Most services are quick, often the same visit, but it depends on the make and whether the filter and gasket are involved. We'll confirm a time when you message us.

Which cars and gearboxes do you service?

Continental makes such as Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, BMW and Mercedes, alongside Japanese and Korean cars. Automatic, CVT, dual-clutch (DCT) and Porsche PDK.

Where are you?

160 Sin Ming Drive, #03-15 Sin Ming AutoCity. Open weekdays 9 to 6 and Saturdays 9 to 4:30.
